Wanted: Australia's Most Outstanding Scout!

Every 3 years, the Asia-Pacific Region of the World Scout Bureau searches for candidates aged 15 to 20 for the APR Award for Outstanding Scouts. The main purpose of the award is to enhance the image and visibility of Scouting as an educational movement, and to emphasise its effectiveness in the development of young people at home, in school, and in communities.  

 

This award is granted once every 3 years to a Scout who demonstrates a sound knowledge of Scouting fundamentals and is active in the development and promotion of the Scout movement within their local and wider communities. 

 

Scouts Australia has been invited select one nominee from Australia for the 5th APR Award. Scouts Australia is currently running an internal selection process to decided on which nomination will be submitted to the APR.

 

The award will be presented at the 24th Asia-Pacific Regional Scout Conference in Dhaka, Bangladesh from 24th till the 29th of November 2012. If the Australian nominee is shortlisted as a finalist, Scouts Australia will provide a 100% scholarship to attend the Regional Scout Conference in Bangladesh for the final interviews and presentation of the awards.
