9th APR Scout Photo Contest 2011

Winners Announced!

Scouts Australia is proud to announce that Megan Donoghue has been awarded Bronze Prize in the 9th APR Scout Photo Contest for her photo "High Five for International Scouting Volunteers". Congratulations Megan!!!

The photo was taken at the 13th World Scout Moot held in Kenya in July 2010. It shows Rovers volunteering for local schools in the Kenyan town of Machakos while attending the Moot. While at the school, volunteers spent time teaching the children games, planted trees around their grounds, and donated sporting equipment.

The APR received a total of 107 entries for this year's contest. Winners were judged by a panel in Japan headed by Mr Takeyoshi Tanuma, President of the Japan Professional Photographers Society.

Megan will receive the Bronze Prize plaque and her photo will be used in the Asia-Pacific Region's regular publications including promotional posters and the 2012 calendar.

Megan is a Rover and Crew Treasurer with Murrumbidgee Rovers in the ACT. She has also recently been appointed as Secretary of the National Youth Council.

Scouts Australia would also like to congratulate the other Australian entrants in the competition - we were greatly impressed by the quality of the photos submitted this year. Keep up the good work!
